Srinagar- Strengthening its digital footprint and reinforcing its focus on customer convenience, J&K Bank today launched a comprehensive suite of new digital products and IT services at a function held at the bank’s corporate headquarters. The rollout marks a significant enhancement of the bank’s technology ecosystem, aimed at improving transaction ease, tightening security, and creating a seamless banking experience across platforms.
The services were launched virtually from the bank’s Jammu office by MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee. Executive Director Sudhir Gupta, CGMs Sunit Kumar and Imtiyaz Ahmad Bhat, general managers and senior officers attended the event at the Srinagar Corporate Headquarters, while divisional and zonal heads joined via video conference.
Speaking at the launch, MD & CEO Amitava Chatterjee described digital transformation as “the spine of modern banking”, emphasising that the bank is accelerating its shift from conventional branch-led operations to a full-fledged omni-channel, tech-enabled model. “With these new products and services, we are not just keeping pace with change; we are moving decisively into a future-ready ecosystem where customers can bank anywhere, anytime with complete confidence,” he said.
He appreciated the bank’s technology team for their efforts and termed the new offerings as “timely, essential and useful feathers in the bank’s digital cap.”
Highlighting key products, Chatterjee noted that the J&K Bank Voice Pod App could become a “game-changer” by offering voice-activated UPI payment notifications without requiring a physical sound box—working entirely through a mobile phone to enhance convenience.
He also praised the new RuPay Platinum Credit Card, which supports QR-based, tap-and-pay and app-enabled payments across major UPI applications such as BHIM, Google Pay and Paytm.
Urging operational heads to amplify staff engagement for product promotion, he stressed the need to educate customers about offerings like Re-KYC through mPay Delight+ and Automated Digital Fraud Management. “The success of these initiatives depends on how quickly and effectively people adopt them,” he said.
Executive Director Sudhir Gupta congratulated the teams involved and said the new digital ecosystem aligns with global banking standards. “Amid the fast-changing technology landscape, the Bank is building a long-term digital transformation framework that adapts to evolving customer expectations and increasing regulatory requirements,” he noted.
General Manager (Strategy & IT) Mohammad Muzaffar Wani elaborated on the product features, stating that embedding advanced technology into banking workflows will create a superior, secure and customer-focused digital experience.
